Impaired driver gets extra hour in custody after pickup stolen as clocks fall back
HUNTSVILLE - An impaired driver got an extra hour to think about it after he was also charged with stealing a pickp truck here just before the clocks went back Sunday.
Police say that on November 3, 2013, just after midnight Huntsville OPP were notified of a vehicle that had been taken from a residence on Meadow Park Drive, Huntsville.
Officers observed the stolen Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on King William Street and managed to get it stopped on Manominee Street in Huntsville.
During the investigation it was found that driver Joshua Ruff, 30, of Huntsville, was found to have been drinking.
He was eventually arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00, Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Having More than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mltrs of blood.
The accused also has his licence suspended for 90 days. He will appear in Huntsville court on November 20, 2013 to answer to his charges.
Huntsville OPP would like to remind everyone to always roll up windows, lock the doors of your vehicle and pocket the keys.
