17-year-old driver ticketed after hospitalizing pedestrian on Main Street in Huntsville
HUNTSVILLE - A teenager driver who struck a pedestrian on the main street here, sending her to hospital, received only a ticket for failing to yield.
Police say that on Thursday October 31, 2013 at about 5 p.m. Huntsville OPP and Muskoka EMS were called after a vehicle had struck a pedestrian on Main Street at Brunel Road, in Huntsville.
A small grey Plymouth was travelling down Brunel, making the lefthand turn onto Main at the same time a female pedestrian was crossing the road, when she was struck.
The 51 year old female was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
A 17 year old male from Huntsville was issued a provincial offences notice for Fail to Yield to Pedestrian under the Highway Traffic Act.
