Fatal trailer fire claims 2 lives in Huntsville, while 1 person is severely burned

HUNTSVILLE - One person escaped, but two people have died after a trailer parked in a driveway here caught fire early  Saturday.

Police say that on January 11, just before 2 a.m. Huntsville OPP, along with Huntsville Fire and Muskoka EMS were notified of a structure fire on Hoodstown Road in Huntsville.

Emergency services arrived to find that three people were inside a trailer that was parked in the driveway at the Hoodstown  Road residence when the fire started.

One person managed to escape, but the other two were unable to get out.

A male who suffered severe burns was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital, then to a Toronto hospital by land ambulance.

The Ontario Fire Marshalls Office (OFM), along with Muskoka Crime Unit, and Central Region Forensic Identification Unit have been notified and are assisting in determining the cause of the fire.

Details of the victims are not being released until post mortem is complete.
