Plan perennial garden with tips Jan. 21 in Gravenhurst

GRAVENHURST – Get a jump on gardening Tuesday, January 21 at the Gravenhurst Horticultural Society meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Gravenhurst Seniors building at 480 First St. N.

Christina Van Klink, of Muskoka Lakes Gardens and More, will speak on the everblooming perennial garden.

She is a graduate of Niagara Horticultural College, who has been working in the field for several years and is pleased to share her expertise.

This is a great time to plan to expand or begin your perennial garden for continuous blooming from spring to fall.

The Gravenhurst Horticulure Society wants you to put on your thinking caps.

The Flower & Vegetable Show Committee is looking for suggestions for the theme of this year’s show. (Last year was “The Wizard of Oz.”)

Put your ideas on paper and drop them in the marked box at the next meeting. Volunteers to help on this committee or with any other functions throughout the year will be welcomed.

Your suggestions for topics for speakers, the meeting format, i.e. demos or more hands-on etc., will also be welcomed.

Please give us your feed-back. We need to start booking speakers for 2015),

Membership to the society is only $10 for the year (plus a $2 for hall rental at each of the 9 meetings); or you can attend meetings as a guest for $5 each meeting.

Reminder: Annual fees are now due. $10 for the year includes 9 meetings, discounts from local nurseries, a summer barbecue, flower show and more

Come take your mind off the winter weather for one evening and dream.
