Muskoka To-DAILY

Sawdust City Brewing Company moving to Gravenhurst Monday morning to set up shop

GRAVENHURST – Like a cold, frothy head that rises to the top, Sawdust City beer finally arrives here Monday.

The signs have been up at the old Canadian Tire store on the main street of Gravenhurst for a couple of months and now the Saw Dust Brewing Company is bringing new beer-making equipment to town to set up shop.

So, if you notice three large transport trucks convoying up Muskoka Road in Gravenhurst tomorrow morning, they are enroute to Sawdust City Brewing Company’s new location in the old Canadian Tire store on the main street at Muskoka Road North and Peter Street. It’s across from the RBC.

They’ll be setting up their micr0 beer-making plant with a retail outlet.

“This is an exciting moment for the Sawdust City Team as they have secured necessary permits and completed planning and move to build the brewery with hopes of moving production of the brewery line to Gravenhurst in 2014,” says Chamber of Commerce manager Danielle Millar, in an email to members Friday.

The move, which was planned for last fall, comes as good news for everyone who likes beer and good economic news.

Even the friendly folk at the neighbouring Presbyterian Church had the welcome sign out this fall.

Wine and beer - they go together. Just ask the friendly neighbours at the Presbyterian Church who were already welcoming Sawdust City this fall with their nice catchy little sandwich board signs.
