Muskoka To-DAILY

Grow a garden in your kitchen Feb. 18

GRAVENHURST — Come on out to the Gravenhurst Horticultural meeting on Feb. 18 and see what can be grown in your kitchen. Learn to grow sprouts and micro greens.

Find out why sprouts are so good for you, and how to buy or grow them.

Learn how to use sprouted nuts, seeds, grains and legumes in family-friendly recipes.

Try them and see how delicious they are.

Take home recipes, hand-outs, and inspiration to eat well!

Four Season Greens supply sprouts and micro-greens throughout Muskoka to restaurants, retailers and individuals through a weekly sprout delivery program.  Owners, Steve and Sharon Bacon are passionate about producing local produce that’s “good-for-you” and making it both available and accessible year-round for everyone.  For several years they have been sharing their passion for sprouting with individuals through workshops in Muskoka and beyond.

Sprouting does not require specialized equipment, is economical, and can be done on a kitchen counter.

Sprouts and micro-greens are super foods. The nutrition is maximized within a few days of germinating the seed. Sprouts and micro-greens aren’t just good for you, they taste delicious, and can be incorporated into all sorts of delicious foods.
