Truck theft leads to Bracebridge man being charged with heroin, cocaine possession

BRACEBRIDGE – An investigation into the theft of a pickup truck has led police to charge a Bracebridge man with theft and a number of drug-related charges, including heroin possession.

Police say that Bracebridge OPP officers have recovered a stolen vehicle and have charged a male with multiple drug related offences.

In the late afternoon of February 10, 2014 the Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) and Muskoka Vice members located a stolen pickup truck in the Bracebridge area.

A thorough investigation was conducted and resulted in the arrest of a Bracebridge man. The CDAT and Muskoka Vice officers arrested the man and found him to be in possession of heroin, cocaine, and Oxycontin.

The street value of the drugs is estimated to be $740 dollars.

Mackenzie Weaver, 27, has been charged with:

CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Heroin

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs

CC 733.1(1) Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)

He was held in custody and will appear in Bracebridge court on the morning of February 12, 2014 to answer to his charges.
