Muskoka To-DAILY

@ The Gravenhurst Library

Gravenhurst Public Library has some fantastic events scheduled for the March break which is quickly approaching. From Friday March 7th to the 14th we have great programs such as Under the Sea Adventures, Origami with Lisa or join us for our Duct Tape extravaganza where you can make a really cool craft using duct tape.

As a part of our March Break festivities award winning children’s author, Alma Fullerton will be paying a visit. This special event will take place from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday March 13th at Trillium Court in the Gravenhurst Opera House. Alma, who is a resident of Midland, will be doing a reading from her picture books “A Good Trade” and “Community Soup” as well as a craft with the kids. At lunch time soup, crackers and juice will be served. We are asking everyone to bring in a donation for the Gravenhurst Food Bank in return. Thanks go out to the Rotary Club of Gravenhurst for their generous assistance in sponsoring this event.

Check our website for the March Break Adventures schedule, Registration is required for all of our March Break activities. Space is limited so sign-up today. Call 705-687-3382 or drop by.

The Page Turners Book Club meeting for March will be on Tuesday the 18th at 6:30pm. This month’s read is the Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. Call us to put your copy on hold today.

GRAVENHURST - Join us on Tuesday March 11 at 3:15 and Wednesday March 26th at 6:45pm for a fun and entertaining hour with the Needlework Club. We had a great time last month learning Entrelac with Irene and we’d like to thank her for the great lesson. Learning the Brioche Stitch will be our next endeavor!

The Public Library Board would like to let everyone know their meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month. Meetings, which are scheduled to take place at 6:30 pm, are located in the Maud Mary Swalm Program Room. Agendas for meetings will be posted on our website the Monday prior to each meeting. These meetings are open to the public so please feel free to attend and find out more about what’s happening at your library.

We want to wish everyone a happy and safe March Break. Hope to see you here at the library!
