Thieves scared off after home broken into in Huntsville, say police

HUNTSVILLEThieves may have been scared away, speculate police, after a home was broken into Saturday.

They say that just after 11 p.m. the owners of a residence on Johanna St., in the town of Huntsville, returned home to find that their house had been broken into.

The victims were only away from the home for only a short time, say police in a news release Tuesday.

The police investigation found that a cash box along with a purse containing cash, bank cards, keys and identification had been stolen.

The fact that the homeowners were gone for only a short time probably scared the culprits off, police say.

The Huntsville detachment Scenes of Crimes officer (SOCO) attended to assist in the investigation.

Anyone with any information about this break in is asked to contact Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) or Crime Stoppers.
