Hwy. 11 accidents Tuesday in Huntsville involve rollover, wheel flying off trailer, striking car

HUNTSVILLE — Police here have been kept busy yesterday afternoon with a couple of serious highway accidents.

On Tuesday March 25, 2014, just after 4:30 p.m. OPP along with Muskoka EMS and Huntsville Fire attended a motor vehicle rollover on Highway #11 at South Mary Lake Road in Huntsville.

The driver of a Chev Equinox was travelling north, lost control and rolled two or three times before landing in the ditch, police say.

The driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of a police investigation Blythe Granger, 29, of Huntsville was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

Just 30 minutes before that accident police and paramedics were at another Highway #11 accident north of Highway #141 after a wheel came off a vehicle, striking another vehicle.

A Ford pickup truck towing a trailer with snow machines was northbound on Highway #11 followed of a Chevrolet car.

A wheel came off the trailer, bounced on the road and struck the front grill of the Chev.

The driver of the pickup truck, Kimberly Scott, 27, of Haliburton has since been charged with Driving While under Suspension, under the Highway Traffic Act.

No injuries were reported.
