Muskoka To-DAILY

Nominate your Tobacco-Free Champion by May 20

SIMCOE-MUSKOKA — Are you or someone you know helping non-smokers breath easy?

Every year the Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit celebrates the work being done locally to make tobacco-free spaces where our residents play, live and gather.

They want your help to identify our local heroes whose contributions, however small, are helping along the way.
Individuals, businesses, service clubs, neighbours, friends, family: anyone or any group you know that is working hard to promote tobacco-free living is invited to share their story with us when you nominate them as a Tobacco-Free Champion.
Nomination forms are available on the health unit website front page at<> or you can call our Health Connection phone line at 1-877-721-7520 or 705-721-7520.
The health unit will announce our local champions just in time for World No Tobacco Day on May 31.
Past winners have included housing providers who offer smoke-free options, businesses that help their employees quit smoking, groups that promote tobacco-free living policies and individuals who support others to steer clear of smoking, chew and other tobacco products.
A full list of past winners is posted at their website.

The deadline to nominate your champion is Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
