Huntsville teen charged with stealing guns in home break-in

HUNTSVILLE An 18-year-old Huntsville teen has been charged with stealing guns in a home break-in Friday.

Police say that on May 9, just after 8 p.m., they were called about a break-in on Brunel Road.

The owner came home from work to find the back door tohis residence had been left open.

He went into his bedroom and found the wooden closet door was off its hinges and his gun vault was missing from inside the closet.

On Sunday May 11, police investigation led to the recovery of all the firearms.

Still missing are PS3 video games, cash, a bottle of alcohol and hunting knife.

As a result of the investigation, an 18 year old male from Huntsville has been arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm, contrary to prohibition order, Break and Enter, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Break and Enter to steal a firearm and Fail to Comply with Probation order.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 12, 2014 to answer to his charges.

Huntsville OPP is continuing their investigation into this break and enter.
