Myth of Muslim Tide author Doug Saunders guest speaker at CFUW fundraiser May 23

GRAVENHURST — What’s it like to cover a war or mining disaster in Turkey?

On the road — the life of a foreign correspondent — will get the full treatment Friday Friday May 23 at the Gravenhurst Opera House.

CFUW Muskoka will host Doug Saunders, Globe and Mail columnist and award-winning author (The Myth of the Muslim Tide and Arrival City) at 7 p.m.

Saunders is also an acclaimed international correspondent for the Globe and Mail with a column appearing every Saturday. He is often a guest on TVO.

He will be discussing his career as a foreign correspondent and the effects of migration on our cities.

All proceeds from this event go to the CFUW Muskoka Charitable Trust (Canadian Federation of UniverstiyWomen), which m provides bursaries to Muskoka students pursuing post-secondary education.

Tickets are $15, and are available at Arts at the Albion Gravenhurst, The Little Book Store in Bracebridge or by calling 705-687-0831.

A reception and book signing will follow.
