Ringo Starr and All-Starr Band kick-off tour at Casino Rama Friday
RAMA — It’ll be another sellout crowd tonight at Casino Rama, as Ringo Starr and his All-Starr band played to a packed house.
At a press screening for the 40-date summer and fall tour kickoff Thursday, Starr said “this is what I do — I’m not an electrician — I’m a musician and I love playing.”
And the former Beatles drummer said he still loves playing — “with these guys.”
His All-Starr band is the same group he’s had the past two years — after starting the touring band over a decade ago.
He’s back at Casino Rama Friday night for the tour’s kickoff concert, where he’s rehearsed the band each year for a decade.
On stage with him are Steve Lukather, Richard Page, Gregg Rolie, Todd Rundgren, Greg Bissonette and the newest member this year reed and percussionist Warren Hamm.
And among those in the house will be the Currie Brothers, Gravenhurst’s musical two-some with a love for all things music, history and especially the Fab Four.
“It’s a chance to see a Beatle,” boasts Andrew Currie, who will take in the show with brother Robert.
It’s especially important for Andrew, who’s a drummer — as well as multi-instrumentalist.
A few tickets may still be available if you call Casino Rama or go to the boxoffice.
