Racing charges against Porsche driver also charged with impaired driving

HUNTSVILLEPorsche driver faces impaired driving, speeding and racing charges after being stopped Saturday night on Hwy. 11.

Police say that on June 7, 2014, just after 10:30 p.m. Huntsville OPP members were patrolling the highway in Huntsville when they observed a Porsche travelling at a high rate of speed in the south bound lanes.

Officers managed to get the vehicle stopped near Allensville Rd. and found the driver had been drinking.

David Archer, 58, of Toronto, was arrested and eventually charged with Impaired Driving and having more than 80mgs of alcohol per 100mltrs of blood, along with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle under the Criminal Code of Canada.

He faces further charges of racing a Motor Vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville on July 9, 2014 to answer to his charges.
