Huntsville town clock repaired after pellet shots fired at it

HUNTSVILLE — Someone taking pot shots at the town clock downtown here may be involved with a number of other acts of vandalism over the weekend including turning on fire hydrants, suspect police.

They say the clock is back up and running and construction barriers removed after the clock was damaged.

On Sunday June 8, Huntsville OPP were notified by the town staff that the town clock had been damaged.

Sometime over night unknown culprits smashed the clock that faces to the north/west side of the town hall.

The town staff went up to cover the clock to protect it from any possible rain damage and observed what appeared to be pellet marks around the clock area.

During the night hours Huntsville OPP also responded to damage downtown where benches were turned over and fire hydrants were set off.

Other damage was reported in other areas of the town of Huntsville included street signs bent over and 911 signs bent.

Huntsville OPP continues to investigate the damage done and asks that anyone with any information is asked to contact Huntsville OPP or Crime Stoppers.
