Orillia bank robbery suspect caught after grabbing bag of cash as customer left BMO

ORILLIA A desperate thief who grabbed a bag of money from a customer who was leaving a downtown bank, was quickly apprehended Wednesday afternoon.

Police say that on June 11, at approximately 12:44 p.m., Orillia OPP received a call about a robbery outside an Orillia bank.

Officers responded to the Bank of Montreal at West Street and Mississaga Street and were told a male had stolen a bag of money from a customer that had just left the bank.

Police flooded the area and arrested a male not far from the scene.

The bag containing the money was recovered.
