Live it! Love it in Huntsville Saturday for ‘swingin’ on the Swing Bridge’
HUNTSVILLE - They were “swingin’ on the Swing Bridge” here Saturday night, as Live it! Culinary, Home & Garden Getaway festival wrapped a fabulous day of events, seminars and entertainment with a table set for 250 and dancing on Main Street.
The longest day of the year turned out to be the best so far, as a perfect summer’s day set into a perfect summer’s eve.
At River Mill Park the garden, culinary and home stages were busy with browsers and garden guru Ed Lawrence talked plants, chefs Bob Blumer and Jo Lusted tantalized taste buds with tempting morsels of information, while Rob Serediuk discussed what cottages for sale.
The morning and afternoon of presentations was capped off with a dinner menu as long as the table, which stretched from Brunel Road to the Swing Bridge. With different dishes from chefs across town, the team from Deerhurst and 3 Guys and a Stove put it all together.
And what a gorgeous setting, with daffodils adorning the table as far as the eye could see, beneath a white canopied tent that was a close as you’d need to get to an Algonquin Park camp out – only with all the comforts of a home-cooked meal.
Then it was onto the Swing Bridge to hear Neil Barlow’s Muskoka Big Band blast out dance tunes that had dancers enjoying their twists and turns over the north branch of the Muskoka River as the sun set.
It was truly a miraculous night and is sure to see a return next summer. See photo gallery below, click photo to enlarge.
