Girl, 7, seriously injured in Rosseau boating accident Monday afternoon

LAKE ROSSEAU A 7-year-old girl is in serious condition at hospital in Toronto after a boating accident Monday.

Police say that at 2 p.m. on June 30, 2014, members of Bracebridge OPP, Muskoka Ambulance and Seguin Fire Department responded to a boat accident in SkeletonBay on LakeRosseau.

Police determined that a 7-year-old girl fell from a boat and was struck by the same vessel.

The girl, who was wearing a PFD, was promptly pulled from the water and taken to shore to an awaiting ground ambulance.

She was subsequently transported by air ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with a serious leg injury.  Members of the Bracebridge Marine Unit are continuing the investigation.
