Cabin, cottage break-ins in north Muskoka net thieves camping gear

HUNTSVILLEA cabin and cottage break-ins has police on the hunt for well-equipped campers.

The first netted thieves a pair of kayaks, paddles camping gear, alcohol, tools and personal items.

Police say that on June 28, Huntsville OPP received a call about the B&E at a remote cabin on Tom Parris Rd in the township of AlgonquinHighlands.

They say that sometime between June 24 and 28 unknown culprits entered the secluded cabin and removed all of the items that had been left.

And sometime between the long weekend in May and June 30, unknown person(s) broke into a cottage on Hidden Valley Rd in the town of Huntsville going through the kitchen window.

Once inside, the cottage was ransacked, including the fridge and freezer, which were left open.

Upon initial investigation, the only property stolen was a canoe.

Anyone with any information about either break in is asked to contact Huntsville OPP or Crime Stoppers.
