Teen confronts Bracebridge burglar, sending him fleeing without goods

BRACEBRIDGE — A teen who confronted a burglar in his home scared the man off without the loot.

The OPP are investigating the daytime burglary on Manitoba Street, here.

Police say that on Thursday, July 24, at 4:05 pm the OPP were dispatched to a report of a break and enter into a residence.

A male suspect entered the residence and began taking items from the home.

A 13-year-old male who happened to be home at the time verbally confronted the suspect.

The suspect fled on foot, leaving the stolen items behind, report police.

No one was injured in this incident. 

The male was described as having short black hair with a goatee, muscular/slim build, approximately 5-foot-8” to 5-foot-10”, and had tattoos on both arms.

The Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the K-9 Unit searched the area for the male but were unable to locate the suspect.
