Police warn about African serval cat spotted in Tiny Township

TINY TOWNSHIP — Provincial police from the Southern Georgian Bay detachment are warning residents of Tiny Township about a rare potentially dangerous wild animal that was spotted in this area.

OPP and Tiny Township Animal Control would like to warn the public that this animal is still at large in the area of Tiny Beaches Road North and Forest Circle in Tiny Township, Ontario.

The cat is confirmed to be an African serval cat approximately 35 – 40 pounds, close to 24 inches tall and approximately three feet long.

If anyone observes this animal, do not approach the animal and call police immediately.

 

They say the animal is believed to be an African serval, cat which was seen in the area of Tiny Beaches Road North and Forest Circle in Tiny Township by a resident who called police to report the sighting.

If anyone observes this animal, they are asked to keep their distance and call police immediately.
