Elderberries end season at Anglican Church June 18 with director Tillson’s final performance

GRAVENHURST — Following their two successful performances at the legion last weekend, the Elderberries choir has one more concert this Sunday afternoon, 2 p.m., at the Anglican Church to wrap up their season.

It’s part of the Anglican Church’s monthly musical offering, as it celebrates its 150th anniversary.

The Elderberries Choir itself is celebrating its 25th year and this will be director Deb Tillson’s final show.

A new director takes over in the fall.

The Elderberries are a nice community choir with members from a large area of Muskoka and south to Orillia.

They are amateur choristers who like to sing while enjoying the social aspect of the group.

They present several concerts each year and this past year that included a Remembrance concert with the Muskoka Concert Band, a Christmas concert and a Family Day concert for Winter Carnival.

They also sing at several nursing homes at Christmas and each spring.

They also made donations to three local charities with some of the proceeds from these concerts this year.

Practises are held weekly at the Baptist Church in Gravenhurst and new members are always welcome.  Contact any member of the choir for more information.

A lot of the members have changed over the past quarter century, but the choir continues to enjoy singing and entertaining.
