Montreal woman faces drug-driving charges after crashing into telephone pole

GRAVENHURST — A Montreal woman faces a number of drug-driving charges after her vehicle crashed into a telephone pole on Hwy. 11, south of Gravenhurst, Monday just before midnight.

Prrovincial police were called to a collision on Highway 11 northbound near North Kahshe Lake Road in Gravenhurst July 10, 2017.

They say a member of the public reported that a lone vehicle had run off the road and struck a telephone pole.

Police arrived and located the vehicle hung up on the telephone poll and began conducting an investigation.

The female driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries and released shortly thereafter to police.

Police have charged 27-year-old Andreanne Riendeau with:

Driving while her Ability was Impaired by Drug CC 253(1)(a)

Refusing to Comply with the Demand for Evaluation CC254(3.1)

Possession of Schedule I Substance (Cocaine) CDSA 4(1)

Possession of Schedule I Substance (Ecstasy)

Possession of Schedule II Substance (Marijuana) CDSA 4(1)

Failure to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking Given by an Officer CC145(5.1)

Driving while under Suspension HTA 53(1).

She appeared in the Bail Court in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
