Curt in the yurt at Rosseau Lake cottage fundraiser to fight sex trafficking

ROSSEAU — Kevin O’Leary and his wife Linda were among more than 200 who helped raise $45,000 for Covenant House’s fight against sex trafficking Saturday afternoon at a dock party and bike ride.

Curt Harnett didn't need to give Reid McGregor and any riding tips, the Canadian pair won June's cross-America road race.

Real Housewives of Toronto TV star and philanthropist Joan Walker was also at the Royal Muskoka Island cottage of photographer Tamara Bahry and her husband Rob White, a Toronto financial executive.

Also on hand were Olympian Curt Harnett and Toronto Star columnist and famed social scribe, Shinan Govani.

Celebrity photographer of the stars George Pimentel was on site taking portraits all the fashionistas in an outdoor studio set styled by Anya Shor featuring a yurt filled with Canadiana artifacts. Social media blew up with photos of the outdoor camping-styled tent. “And, yes, we photographed Curt in the yurt,” said event co-founder Melony Jamieson.

World wakeboard champion Robbie McMillin showed off some his latest moves in advance of next week’s World competitions in Poland.

And party goers at the ‘Rock the Dock’ party also enjoyed flyboarding demonstrations by Muskoka Wake and log rolling by Muskoka Mafia.

Grand Electric was there with their taco food truck, lending a Mexican vibe to the scene.

Harnett lead 30 cyclists on a 40-km hilly ride from The Rock golf course in Minett to the Crossroads restaurant in Rousseau, and back.

Reid McGregor and Mike Breech, just back from breaking the Canadian record in the Race Across America, rode with the group.

Said Harnett: “It was a great day and it was really good to see so many supporters arriving by boat and car to attend the ultimate dock party. Muskoka knows how to rock the dock and party with purpose!” Harnett added, “We still have more work to do to stop sex trafficking.”
