Man charged with impaired driving in Gravenhurst Thursday

GRAVENHURST – Police didn’t need a Christmas RIDE check to arrest a 62-year-old Gravenhurst man Thursday.
Provincial police got a call and were dispatched to attend the area of Muskoka Road North in Gravenhurst, after a concerned citizen called in to report a possible impaired driver on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 1:15 in the afternoon.
Officers were able to locate the vehicle on First Street in Gravenhurst and as a result of their investigation, arrested and charged Jeffrey Thomas with driving with Over 80 CC of alcohol in their blood
The accused received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension and further had his vehicle towed and impounded. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 16, 2018, to answer to his charge.
Police would like to thank the engaged members of the public that take the time to call police when they suspect someone is driving impaired.
