Coleman, Renaud to head 2019 Ontario 55+ Winter Games in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE Veteran politician Fran Coleman has been tapped to head up the 2019 Ontario 55+ Winter Games.

As well, the town has hired Sheri Renaud as general manager of March 5-7 events in Huntsville.

“I am so pleased that Fran has agreed to chair the 2019 Ontario 55+ Winter Games,” said Mayor Scott Aitchison. “Fran has a remarkable record of service to the people of Huntsville and all Muskoka.

“The passion and commitment that Fran is so well known for will ensure that the best games ever will be here in Huntsville in 2019.”

The Town of Huntsville successfully secured the bid for the 2019 Ontario 55+ Winter Games last June.

The Games are a partnership between the Town of Huntsville, Games Ontario and the Ontario Senior Games Association.

They will take place with 10 sporting events and have more than 1,000 athletes.

Sports include alpine and nordic skiing, badminton, curling, duplicate bridge, hockey, skating; prediction, table tennis, 10-pin bowling and volleyball.
